Intern Capstone Project

An inaugural component of the Twins Internship Program, our 2019 Twintern class was divided into five groups and assigned one of five topics stemming directly from the organizational strategic plan.  We were then given three months before presenting our projects in front of an executive panel, featuring:
  • Dave St. Peter,  President & Chief Executive Officer
  • Kip Elliot, Executive VP, Chief Administrative Officer/Chief Financial Officer
  • Joe Pohlad, Executive VP, Brand Strategy & Growth

My group was assigned the topic of PEOPLE - Build Recruitment Channels & Enhance Staff Diversity, to which we focused in on how to create a recruitment network throughout Twins Territory and beyond.  As co-captain for my team, I had an integral part in fostering the success of our group, including communication on progress, leading weekly group meetings, creating presentation slides and overseeing presentation content and flow.

On August 28, 2019, we presented a strongly structured plan on how to achieve our play call: Increase Inclusion to Ignite Innovation. I am pleased to say that we were awarded the 1st Place recognition for this inaugural capstone project!

If you are interested in learning more about our project, check out the content pieces below and feel free to contact me for more!
Above is the video we used to introduce our group members during our presentation, modeled after the 2019 Twins branding and advertisement pieces.
Utilizing Digideck, I created the slide deck used for our presentation featuring engaging videos and graphical data representation. Some examples of slides are above.

As with every internship position, the "other duties as assigned" statement holds strong and true for my experience with the Twins. Even though they come in as "assigned", they all still hold an element of FUN as the Twins Tradition dictates.
